Eagle-Summit Foot & Ankle COVID-19 Update – 3/23/2020

Avon and Frisco Offices Will Remain Open for Urgent Appointments

We hope you all are feeling healthy and staying positive despite the COVID-19 pandemic hitting so close to home. The staff here at Eagle-Summit Foot & Ankle provide needed services for people in our community, and because of this, we are planning to remain open for patients with urgent foot and ankle problems in the coming weeks. The last place you want to go right now with an acute foot or ankle injury, infection, or other problem is a hospital emergency room. Vail Health has told the community that they do not want people coming to the ER unless they have a life threatening condition. Please call us instead.

While we have always maintained an extremely clean and sanitary environment, we felt it would be prudent to take additional precautions given the current climate. To that end, we had a crew from the professional cleaning service Sweeping Change come in on Friday to do a deep clean of our entire Avon Office. They are tentatively scheduled to do the same thing in our Frisco office on Wednesday. The crew thoroughly sanitized every surface throughout the office using CDC recommended and approved cleaning products – every cabinet, cart, doorknob, drawer pull, wall, baseboard, countertop etc. A huge Thank You to Sweeping Change owner Elisse Kelley!

As a reminder, we are requesting you follow a few guidelines when coming to the office:

  • Stay home if you are sick or if have come into contact with someone who has been.
  • Limit additional visitors: We ask that patients arrive for their appointment unaccompanied or, if necessary, with a single caregiver.
  • Social Distancing: We will make every effort to limit your time in our reception area near other visitors by bringing you to a treatment room as soon as available. Please arrive promptly for your appointment and we will do our best to limit your wait time. For new patients or those who have not been seen in the past three (3) years, patient demographic and health history forms can be accessed HERE and filled out prior to your appointment.
  • We recommend that higher risk patients reschedule Non-Urgent Appointments. Older adults (>60) and people who have severe underlying chronic medical conditions like heart or lung disease, diabetes, or who are immunosuppressed are at a higher risk for developing more serious complications from COVID-19. We recommend postponing non-urgent
appointments until April 6th or later.

We appreciate your trust in our office and look forward providing the highest-quality foot and ankle care for you and your family. We will continue to follow the recommendations and guidelines from the CDC, WHO and CDPHE and will keep you informed as this crisis continues to evolve. Please contact either of our Eagle-Summit Foot & Ankle offices if you have questions. You can reach our Frisco office at (970) 668-4565 or our Avon office at (970) 949-0500.
